When Melanie’s corpse was found in the legendary Killing Fields of Texas, outside Houston, police wondered if famous criminologist Ronnie Packer had murdered his wife. A Texas jury found him not guilty, but when Professor Packer returns to work, things start to happen. The Dean asks Rachel Tile, director of the Department of Criminology, to look into Melanie’s murder and assess whether the university can risk having him around the students, staff, and faculty.
